I just read in his newsletter that San Diego's own Ryan Claytor is moving to Lansing, Michigan. Good luck in the tundra Ryan!

(from his newsletter) "I'm moving to Lansing, Michigan. My sweetie got a great gig out there and I'm following her to a state with seasons. If anyone has any tips for a California transplant, or knows of any good comic stores in the area, I'm all ears."

(A note from Robert Gould publisher of Big Guy Books)

Dear friends and family,

I am writing this email to all of you because, truthfully...I am struggling to keep this company, and my vision, alive. I find myself in a position of having to ask you for help. I?m not asking for money or anything like that. I?m asking for you to help me by doing just one tiny little favor, which could, God willing, start a grass roots movement to get our children?s books out into the marketplace.

At the bottom of this email, I?m putting a link to a really fun web page I just created. There you will find a link to a little mini video, and a link that will allow anyone to download a free eBook copy of a wonderful children?s book. As many of you know, I have dedicated the last 7 years of my life, and every dollar I had, developing a book series that was engaging enough to capture the interest of even the most reluctant readers. The outcome of that is the Time Soldiers books, of which we have finished 6, with the 7th almost ready to go to press. Sadly though, there is no money to print it. That?s why I?m asking you to help me. A simple click of your mouse will help to send this email out to thousands of people. And being Christmas time, that will hopefully translate to people visiting our website to buy these wonderful books.

So, I?m asking that you click on the link below, check it out, and if you like what you see, then forward this email to everyone on your mailing list...and ask them to do the same. They might not have young children, but they could have nieces or nephews, grandchildren, brothers or sisters, or know of a friend or neighbor who has a child that may be a reluctant reader...or conversely, a child who really loves to read.

Illiteracy in this great country of ours is at an all time high. If we want our children to grow up in a world full of hope, laughter and prosperity, instead of trouble, despair and poverty, we need to face this difficult issue and take action to change it. We owe this to our children...and their children. A child who grows up reading daily has a better chance for a successful life as an adult. A much better chance. But if we don?t give children good books that they want to read, it won?t happen. Right now, young boys are the most at risk. There simply aren?t enough good books engaging enough to pull them away from their videogames and TV. That?s why I started BiG Guy Books. We?ve created an entirely new genre of book, that gets kids reading every word, and then anxiously waiting to get their hands on the next in the series. The experiment worked! These books are the most popular books in every school library we placed them in. But, like all paradigm busting inventions, the people in the position to make change happen, are typically the biggest naysayers. That?s why I need your help. Together, we can let people know that there are books other than potty humor, that boys (and girls) will WANT to read.

Will you help me?

Just click this link www.freedinosaurbook.com and check out the web page. If you like what you see, simply forward this email to your mailing list, and, importantly...ask them to do the same thing.

If this works, you will have been a part of something very, very important. I thank you for that.

Have a wonderful, safe and happy holiday.

Sincerely,

Robert Gould
